When someone mentions Pattaya, people will think of colorful bustling city with full of tourists, vast beautiful sea and full of shops. Many people would not believe that there are the natural scenery of rice fields and coconut plantations at Takian Tia community, Takian Tia, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. Takian Tia is a small community that still lives a simple life. People can ride a bicycle to explore the path of coconut plantation with the most beautiful views. Moreover, visitors can also visit the "Hundred-Pillar House (Ban Roi Sao)" aged over 100 years, where the story of the house will be shared. Tourists can taste coconut coffee and make chicken curry served in the coconut shell, which is a local food of the community as well as doing activities to experience the local way of life. To illustrate, visitors can learn how to make Puang Ma Ho Torn (vintage hanger made of colored paper), folding roses from pandanus and Gua Sha, which are traditional art that the villagers in the community still conserve. In addition, there also a lesson on how to make cold pressed coconut oil and coconut soap.
Krungthai Bank foresaw the potential of the community, focusing on sustainable community development. Therefore, the Bank cooperated with the Takian Tia community to prepare and share knowledge for people in the community to develop and apply with the resources or products and services available in the community under the “Go - Local, Grow – Local” Project: Takian Tia Community. The project aims to add value to and strengthen community tourism by introducing the Bank’s financial innovations, such as Krungthai NEXT application, Krungthai Connext and income & expense accounting system, organizing tourism promotion activities, and developing products and services, in order to enhance the products and tourism standards.
