What to Do If Your SIM Card Owner's Name Does Not Match Your Mobile Banking Account Name
Krungthai Bank is enhancing the security of Krungthai NEXT and Paotang applications by ensuring that the name registered for the SIM card matches the name associated with the mobile banking account. This measure is being implemented in preparation for upcoming regulations from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE).
Please verify that the name on your mobile banking account matches the name registered with your mobile phone number. The verification process will initially focus on the following two groups:
- Foreign customers who opened accounts and mobile banking services from January 2022 onward, where the passport details of the mobile banking SIM card owner do not match the bank account holder's name.
- Thai and foreign customers who opened accounts and mobile banking services from January 2022 onward and have no registered SIM card ownership data as reported by the NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission).
How to Verify Your SIM Card Ownership
Dial *179* 13-digit National ID number#, then press the call button.
If you find that the name of the mobile phone number owner does not match the name on your bank account, you can proceed as follows:
- Option 1: Contact your mobile network provider and request to update the registered name of the mobile phone number owner. This update should align the name of the SIM card owner with the name associated with your bank account.
- Option 2: Visit any Krungthai Bank branch to update the mobile phone number linked to your mobile banking account, ensuring that the name on the account matches the name of the mobile phone number owner.
- Option 3: In the case of an exemption, visit any Krungthai Bank branch to submit a request. Eligible exempted groups include family members, individuals lacking legal capacity, persons with limited legal capacity, individuals with disabilities, and legal entities. You will be required to provide identification documents and proof of relationship.
