  • What is the international money transfer service (Krungthai WARP?)
    • New smart foreign money transfer system for Thai people, "Cheap, Fast, Better Rate". The destination receives the full amount. Transfer to the destination faster than the SWIFT system

  • How much is the transfer limit per transaction?
      • Through the WARP system, not more than 500,000 baht per transaction.
      • Through the SWIFT system, not more than 1,500,000 baht per transaction.
  • What currencies can customers transfer? And transfer to any country?
      • Transfer via WARP (not more than 500,000 baht per transaction).
        Customers can transfer in 4 currencies, 4 destination countries: USD-America, GBP-UK, SGD-Singapore, HKD-Hong Kong.
      • Transfer via SWIFT (not more than 1,500,000 baht per transaction).
        Customers can transfer money from over 150 countries around the world.

PromptPay International
  • What is PromptPay International service?
    • PromptPay International is an international money transfer service facilitating retail customers seeking to send and receive international money transfers via a convenient, fast, affordable, and secure channel using a bank account already registered for Krungthai PromptPay service with a mobile phone number.  The service is carried out according to the following steps:

      • Sending an international transfer via PromptPay: The sender can perform the transaction through the Application Krungthai Next by specifying the recipient's mobile phone number. After the sender has verified the recipient's name and confirmed the transfer transaction, the bank will send the money transfer instructions to the recipient's account at the overseas destination bank and notify the sender of the transfer result.
      • Receiving an international transfer via PromptPay: The bank will send a notification to the recipient after receiving a transfer order through the recipient's mobile phone number linked to the Krungthai PromptPay registered account. The recipient can check the transfer balance from the notification message or from the Bank's designated Krungthai PromptPay system.
  • Which countries are eligible for PromptPay International?
    • PromptPay International service is currently available for transfers between Thailand and Singapore, and will be expanded to other countries in the future.

  • Who can use PromptPay International service?
    • PromptPay International service is available only for individual customers according to the Bank's service conditions.  The sender must subscribe to a Application Krungthai Next (mobile banking service). Thai nationals are not allowed to transfer money from Thailand to their own accounts abroad. Recipients in Thailand must subscribe for PromptPay service to link their mobile phone numbers with Krungthai PromptPay accounts.

  • Is it necessary to register for PromptPay service?
      • Senders are not required to register for Krungthai PromptPay service but need to open Application Krungthai Next (mobile banking service).
      • Recipients in Thailand must register for Krungthai PromptPay service to link a mobile phone number with an Krungthai account
  • Which countries are eligible for PromptPay International service?
    • In this early stage, PromptPay International service is available for money transfer only to Singapore, but will be expanded to other countries in the future.

  • Which banks provide PromptPay International service?
    • In this early stage, The receiving bank that available for PromptPay International service  at the following banks:

      In Singapore

      • DBS Singapore
      • OCBS Singapore
      • UOB Singapore
  • Which banking channels can be used for PromptPay International service?
      • Receiving an international fund transfer: The recipient will receive a notification when the transfer has arrived to the Krungthai PromptPay account registered with a mobile phone number.  The recipient can check the balance from the notification or account registered with a mobile banking service of the bank.
      • Sending an international fund transfer: The sender can use the service via the Application Krungthai Next (mobile banking service). 
  • When will PromptPay International Service be available?
    • PromptPay International service will be available from 26 April 2021, and each bank will promote the service to customers via their available channels.

  • What are the service charges?
    • Krungthai has set service fees for PromptPay International service as follows:

  • How does the service work?
    • Senders can process a fund transfer transaction via Application Krungthai Next (mobile banking service by indicating receiver mobile number that registered with the service bank and amount.  Then, review the recipient’s name and details shown on the application before confirming the transaction.

  • Transaction Limit
    • Senders can set a transaction limit as agreed for each country.  For Singapore, the daily transfer limit is set at SGD 1,000 without any limitation on the number of transactions made on that day.  For example, if a sender has transferred SGD 500, he/she can transfer another SGD 500 the same day.  If the sender has transferred SGD 1,000, he/she will not be able to make another transfer on that day, but will be allowed to transfer again the next day.

  • Cancelation
    • If the transaction has been confirmed via the PromptPay system, the sender will not be able to cancel the transaction. 

  • Unsuccessful Notification
    • If the transaction is not successful, the sender will receive a notification from the paying bank and the amount will be returned to the paying account automatically.

  • What should I do if I don’t want to receive my transfer via PromptPay International?
    • When using PromptPay International service, the service user allows the Bank to disclose his/her account name and number, and any other information to the sender and service provider abroad for the purpose of complying with laws and/or regulatory requirements enforced on the service provider and for verifying the integrity of the transaction.  If the recipient does not want to receive money via PromptPay transfer, he/she can cancel the service via Application Krungthai NEXT or Krungthai Contact Center 0-2111-1111 without affecting local PromptPay service.

  • Do I have to confirm a transaction after receiving notification?
    • After receiving a PromptPay International transfer notification, the receiver is not required to confirm the transaction. The money will be transferred to the Krungthai PromptPay account registered with a mobile phone number automatically.

  • What should I do if I don’t receive a transfer notification?
    • Service users can check their transfer transactions via the channels designated by the Bank.

  • Transaction Limit
    • There is a limit per transaction set for receiving PromptPay International transfers for each country.  For Singapore, the limit is set at THB 25,000, but without a daily limit.  Service users can receive their transfer for unlimited amounts and free of charge via PromptPay International service.
